Aqiqah is a Sunnah practice performed on the occasion of a newborn’s birth. It involves sacrificing an animal (usually a goat or sheep) as an act of gratitude and blessing for the child. Uri (Umbilical Cord) Burial is the act of burying the umbilical cord of the newborn baby. It is considered a practice to respect the child’s first connection to the mother.
